Hello! My name is María José, and I am from El Salvador. I am a warm, patient, responsible and creative childcare provider with experience caring for children of different ages, as well as practical training in Early Childhood Education. I am planning to move to Cork, Ireland in March 2027 to study English for 25 weeks. My English classes will be in the morning, and I am looking for a genuine live-in nanny/childcare position with a welcoming family in Cork. Because my classes will be in the morning, I am hoping to find a family whose childcare needs fit around my study schedule. Living with a host family gave me the opportunity to become part of the children's daily routine and to experience childcare within a family home. My responsibilities included: Preparing meals for the children Taking them to school Playing and spending quality time with them Taking them to the park and other outdoor activities Helping with their daily routines Washing and folding their clothes Taking care of other tasks directly related to the children's needs This experience taught me how important it is to be responsible, adaptable and respectful of a family's routines and home. CHILDCARE EXPERIENCE IN EL SALVADOR In El Salvador, I have cared for children between 2 and 9 years old... My experience has included caring for children, playing with them, preparing activities, supporting their routines and creating fun and engaging experiences appropriate for their age. I have also worked as a private tutor for children aged 7 to 14. As a tutor, I have helped children who were learning to read, as well as children who needed additional support with school subjects they found difficult. EDUCATION & CHILD DEVELOPMENT I completed two years of teacher training in Early Childhood Education. As part of my training, I completed 250 hours of practical experience in a preschool, working with children aged 3 and 6. I have also completed a Child Pedagogy course, which has helped me develop a better understanding of children's learning, development and educational needs. FIRST AID & SAFETY I have completed First Aid training and understand the importance of maintaining a safe environment for children. I am attentive to children's needs and understand that safety, supervision and responsible care are essential parts of being a nanny. DRIVING I have a valid driver's license and am comfortable driving when needed for childcare-related activities, such as school runs, appointments, activities or outings. LOOKING FOR A LIVE-IN FAMILY I am specifically looking for a live-in childcare arrangement in Cork, where I can live with the family in a private room and become a trusted part of their household while providing childcare. For me, communication and mutual respect are very important. I would like to find a family where we can discuss expectations, responsibilities, working hours and house rules clearly before making any commitment. I am happy to have video calls with the parents and, if possible, meet the children online before arriving in Ireland.
