Hi! My name is Giovanna, I’m 24 years old and I’m originally from Brazil. I recently moved to Ireland with my husband, and I’m very excited to start this new chapter of our lives here. My husband is an Italian citizen and is already working in Ireland in the IT field. As his spouse, I am currently in the process of applying for my Stamp 4 permission. Back in Brazil, I recently graduated in Law and passed the Brazilian Bar Examination. However, I had always dreamed of experiencing life abroad, improving my English and getting to know a different culture. I come from a very close and loving family, and I have always loved being around children. I am the eldest daughter in my family, and because my parents both worked outside the home, I started helping to look after my younger sister from a very young age. Being an older sister taught me to be responsible, patient, caring and attentive from an early age. I am also the eldest cousin in my family, with five younger cousins. During school holidays, I often looked after them, played with them and helped take care of them. Because of this, being around children and taking responsibility for them has always been a very natural part of my life. I genuinely love spending time with children. I have a lot of patience with them and I enjoy playing, talking, doing activities and simply being part of their world. I believe children need someone who is not only responsible and trustworthy, but also patient, kind and willing to have fun with them. I would describe myself as extremely responsible, organised, patient and caring. Being the eldest in my family meant that I developed a strong sense of responsibility from a very young age. I am also someone who takes commitments seriously and always wants to make sure that the people around me feel safe and comfortable. Regarding English, I studied English when I was younger, so I already have a good foundation and understanding of the language. However, during my university years in Brazil, I did not have many opportunities to use English regularly, so I lost some of my practice and confidence when speaking. One of the reasons I was excited to come to Ireland was to improve my English through everyday life. I believe working with children would be a lovely way to practise and develop my communication skills naturally, while also helping them and becoming part of their routine. I’m looking forward to meeting a lovely family in Ireland and building a relationship based on trust, respect and good communication. I would be very happy to help with the children’s routine, play with them, keep them company and make sure they feel safe, happy and well cared for. I would also be happy to share photos and videos of moments with my younger sister and cousins, if you would like to see some examples of the time I have spent caring for and looking after them.
