Hi! My name is Lucía, I'm 22 years old and originally from Spain. I'm currently living in Ballincollig, Cork, where I work as an au pair. I've always enjoyed being around children, and over the past few years I've had the opportunity to work with several lovely families in Ireland and the Netherlands, caring for children from newborns up to 12 years old. I've also gained experience caring for children with additional needs, including autism, which has taught me a lot about patience, understanding and adapting to each child's individual needs. I'm currently looking after a 5-month-old baby, so I'm very comfortable with babies and their daily routines. I also love working with toddlers and older children, whether that's reading stories, getting creative with arts and crafts, playing outside or simply listening to their endless little stories! I'm currently studying QQI Level 5 Nursing Studies, as caring for others is something I'm genuinely passionate about. I've also completed Children First safeguarding training and have previous CPR/AED training. I'd describe myself as a caring, patient and responsible person. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your children in someone else's care, and I always do my best to make sure they feel safe, happy and comfortable. I also believe good communication with parents is just as important as building a connection with their children. I'm available on weekday evenings and weekends, and I'm happy to help with occasional babysitting or regular arrangements. References from my previous host families are available upon request.
