I am a Maths and Writing tutor with 9 years of teaching experience. Rather than memorizing processes, I help students by guiding them through their subjects with leading questions and hints, if necessary. I believe that learning is an active process and when students gain confidence and familiarity in the area that they are struggling, success is not far behind! If after several leading questions my student(s) are still struggling I will provide a similar example and then if they still do not understand I slowly walk them through the exact question they are working on. I am not the kind of tutor/teacher that provides the answers, I facilitate the learning process with a growth mindset that draws on my minor fields of study in Psychology and Anthropology. I have a Graduate Diploma in Mathematics from UCD as well as a BA in Mathematics with minors in Anthropology and Psychology. I have 9 years of tutoring experience (Maths, Writing, Chemistry, Reading) and 2 years of lecturing experience (Maths). I have assisted students as young as 6 and as old as 60!
