Hi there! I’m Aisling. I am a stay at home mam of 2 based in Portlaoise. I have a 6 year old boy who’s in junior infants and I have a 7 month old girl. My husband works locally full time. We also have 1 dog and 1 cat (outdoor). Up until last summer I worked full time until my own childminder retired and with being pregnant and very little childminding options, I was forced but lucky enough to be able to give up work and stay at home. I understand the qualities that make a good childminder, we would have been lost without ours for the past 4 years and were always extremely grateful for her. I understand how hard it can be to find a good trustworthy childminder and also know how expensive crèche places can be and so I’d like to take some of the sting out of the search for parents and provide a home from home environment that they know their children will be safe, warm and well looked after in. My previous work experience includes 9 years as a sales representative and prior to this I worked for 4 years as a healthcare assistant in a local nursing home assisting the elderly residents with all aspects of daily living. In the interest of full disclosure, whilst I don’t smoke cigarettes, I do use an electronic vape. I use this in the same way I’d expect someone else to if minding my own children; before they arrive, whilst they nap (if applicable) and I have the chance for a cuppa or when the child(ren) has left for the day. I do not and would not use this in the company of mine or anyone else’s child. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like to know anything else and we can talk more.
