About Gabriela CristinaBack to Top
Hello everyone! I'm Gabriela, Brazilian, and I'm 30 years old. I'm graduated from psychology in 2013 and I have a major in Public Health Psychology (2015). Nowadays, I live in Dublin 9 and I am attending my English classes at ISI School in Dublin - in the morning, so only part time position will be suitable for me. In Brazil I used to live with my brother and my nephew in São Paulo. My brother is older than me and my lovely nephew is 10 years old and He always lived with my family. I took care him since He was a baby. Enzo is a great, kind, smart and special child. I do love him so much, I love being an aunt! My friends and family would describe me: "Gabriela is as a hardworking girl with many dreams and hopes who like to learn and teach. She loves children and she is pretty good with them, very understanding and careful. As a psychologist she is one of the best, always worried about the patient even after hours. And also Gabriela is courageous to following her dreams, such as leaving her country to learn English and have better opportunities. She is very extroverted, in the beginning she might seem as introvert, but she has a lot of attitude and like to chat with everyone, she will never make anybody feel outside the conversation, which it makes her very gregarious. She is a person who you can rely on for anything you can imagine. She is also sympathetic, not only because of her profession, but as a trait of her personality”. My hobbies are travel around the world, I already knew Paris, Amsterdan, Barcelona, Canary Islands, New Jersey, New York and Seattle. I do love to study, to read, to listen music, going to the movies and I'm addicted in watch movies and TV shows on Netflix and also going out with friends. So, I want to work with children/adolescents because I do like to work and take care of them. Besides my experience taking care my nephew, what helped me to learned a lot about children, I have profissional knowledge about development's children and adolescents. Therefore, even in another country I can't imagine myself working with other things, I always prefer to work with children and teenagers. Currently, I’ve decided to do an exchange to improve my English and take the IELTS exam, because when the Au Pair program finish I want do my Master abroad. My first experience working with special needs children, in Brazil, It was in a Montessori School. I was an assistent and I helped a boy (6 yo) to learn how to read, write and speak and, also, improve his social skills. I also worked with him in his home. When I started to work with him, he couldn’t speak, but then he could communicate with other people without my help. I worked with him for two years, only, because at that time I decided to do an exchange program. Then, I worked as an Au Pair for two months in the United States (in 2015), I took care of three children, 10, 9 and 4 years old, and one of them with Down Syndrome. I was responsible for cooking their meals, organize and clean up their room and things, and also helping with their homework. I drove the kids to school and to their therapies too. After the exchange, when I came back to Brazil, I started to work as a psychologist in a service of Public Mental Health only for children and teenagers. I worked there for three years. The children and adolescents suffers from mental illnesses such as autism, psychosis, depression, eating disorders and so on.
